Richard E. Kopliner, 81, of Derby, previously of Dunkirk and Las Vegas, Nev., died Wednesday afternoon (June 15, 2022) at Buffalo Basic Hospital after a quick sickness.

He was born on January 28, 1941, in Dunkirk, the son of the late Chester and Lucille (Ceranowicz) Kopliner.

Survivors embrace a sister, Theresa (David Sr.) Renkens of Dunkirk; three nieces: Denise (Scott) Szalkowski of Fredonia, Amy (Jim) Hyperlink Welker of Sewell, NJ, and Donna Hyperlink-Brickner of Sewell, NJ; and a nephew, David Jr. (n) the Rankins of Fredonia.

Along with his mother and father, he’s married to Kathy C. was preceded by loss of life by Single; and his sister, Lucille Hyperlink.

A proud veteran, Richard served within the US Military from 1963-65. He was honored for serving his nation and being awarded the Military Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Discharge. After his army service, Richard relocated to Las Vegas, Nev., the place he met the love of his life, Cathy Single. Collectively, they loved their time collectively, most notably touring to Scotland, the place Kathy grew up. After Kathy handed away, Richard moved again to WNY to be nearer to the household.
